Environmentally Preferred Dielectric Solvent

for Military Vehicles, Ground Equipment & Weapon Systems Cleaning

Product Data Sheet Safety Data Sheet

Description
ELECTRON 296 Environmentally Preferred Dielectric Solvent is an exceptional solvent degreaser formulated without chlorinated solvents or other hazardous ingredients. The base for ELECTRON 296 is a unique high-grade oil distillate, which provides its dielectric strength, allowing it to be used safely on all types of electrical apparatus. With its high flash point, ELECTRON 296 provides an unprecedented degree of user safety.

ELECTRON 296 Environmentally Preferred Dielectric Solvent is strong enough to remove grease, fuel oil, carbon and organic resins yet safe on most plastic and rubber surfaces. Unlike other solvents, ELECTRON 296 can be used without extensive protective equipment. Common sense chemical precautions are required.

Benefits

  • Contains no water
  • Fully evaporative, leaves no residue
  • Not a flammable liquid, (TCC Flash point above 145°F)
  • No surface leakage of current in immediate residue tests
  • Contains no OSHA PEL or ACGIH TLV listed ingredients
  • High dielectric strength, (ASTM D-877 test procedures to 46,000 volts)
  • No SARA or RCRA listed ingredients
  • Qualified to MIL-PRF-680A, Type IV

Applications
Use undiluted. Spray or wipe ELECTRON 296 on surface to be cleaned. Oil, dirt and carbon will flow off surface. If additional cleaning is required, wipe with rag or brush. Since ELECTRON 296 does not dry as rapidly as 1,1,1 trichloroethane, apply a light spray first, allow 5 minutes to work, then follow with a light spray as a rinse, which will push out the now soluble soils. ELECTRON 296 also works exceptionally well in filtered or unfiltered parts washers.
