Nonflammable Degreasers for Imperial Electric Motors

Imperial Electric Motors – Protecting Your Investment

The best way to maximize your Imperial Electric Motor investment is through proper operations and maintenance. Friction is the enemy of all moving pieces, especially metal-on-metal contact. Elevators and escalators are extremely sensitive to surface wear and represent a potential liability if not properly maintained. The challenge is the ongoing changes to the types of cleaning solvents can be used. Operating in California is a different level of rules and compliance regulations than any other state. So how do you protect your investment while also adhering to the latest round of EPA and OSHA regulation standards?

Nonflammable degreasers are ideal for the following reasons:

  • mitigate risk of fire when working around energized equipment
  • less expensive to ship and dispose of the unused contents
  • generally dry or evaporate much more quickly which protects
  • from non-volatile residue (NVR)

Ecolink 3005 aerosol and Triagen aerosols are ideal solutions depending on the soil density and age of the soils, i.e. time elapsed between maintenance intervals. Ecolink 3005 works better for lighter soils and Triagen is ideal for true metal degreasing where VOC’s are not an issue – i.e. California. Both solutions ‘significantly’ out-perform LPS Labs Electro Contact Cleaner. With 35-55% propellant (air), Electro Contact Cleaner is an embarrassment to the chemical industry. Read their MSDS and give us a call to evaluate a product that works and lasts 1-3 times longer than Electro Contact Cleaner.
