How Does Soft Washing Work?

How does soft washing work? Unlike power washing or pressure washing, soft washing involves the use of a chemical blend to break up dirt, algae, grime, and other build-up, without the use of high-pressure washing systems that may cause damage to your surfaces.

Power washing requires the use of high-power machinery to assist in the delivery of the cleaning methods, whereas soft washing solutions use a low pressure pump and hose method. Soft washing deliberately uses a special blend of sodium hypochlorite (the chemical name for bleach), water, and surfactants to do the heavy lifting. A surfactant, just like its name implies, is a surface-acting agent. These chemicals are designed to disrupt surface tension and lift impurities. When surfactants are combined with sodium hypochlorite (bleach) and water, the resulting mixture is a highly effective soft wash solution that cuts through tough stains, grime, dirt, and build-up on the desired cleaning area.

Soft washing was introduced primarily to provide cleaning services the ability to clean roofs and exteriors without damaging the protective qualities of the materials being cleaned. Soft washing will safely clean shingle roofs, windows, skylights, and more.
