Description

Boiler Guard - 55 Gallon Drum

Boiler Guard is a brown, alkaline solution whose principal ingredients are sodium hydroxide (10%-15% by concentration) and diethyl ethanolamine (1%-2% by concentration). It can be used to eliminate scale buildup and corrosion on steam boiler systems, as well as prevent these issues from occurring in the future. It is also an oxygen scavenger that binds free oxygen to hinder further scale and corrosion from developing.

Boiler Guard Benefits:

  • Nonflammable
  • Low reactivity
  • Can be used with a variety of boiler sizes

Boiler Guard Applications:

  • Boiler Guard is a water treatment solution that removes scale and corrosion from steam boilers and hampers their prospective formation.
  • Before use, Boiler Guard should be diluted to a rate of 8-16 ounces of solution per 500 gallons of water.
  • It should be administered using a by-pass feeder or pump on the high-pressure side of the boiler feed pump.
  • The HEDP levels of the system should be kept between 2 and 6 ppm, and total alkalinity should be maintained between 450 and 650.
