The Benefits of Rough & Tough Cleaner

Definition of Rough & Tough Cleaner

Rough & Tough Cleaner is an alkaline, industrial-strength cleaning solution. Its primary ingredient is oligomeric D-glucopyranose (0.1%-1% by weight), and it is a caustic detergent that effectively removes carbon, grease, and other types of dirt and grime from off-road machineries such as dozers, scrapers, backhoes, and front-end loaders. Rough & Tough Cleaner can also be utilized as a pre-cleaning solution that cleanses and prepares surfaces prior to painting.

How to Use Rough & Tough Cleaner

Rough & Tough Cleaner is a highly concentrated solution, so it must be diluted to a ratio of 1:60 to 1:100 before use. It can then be used in a pump-up sprayer at a concentration of 1:1 or a post-pump chemical injector at a concentration of 1:4.

Before applying Rough & Tough Cleaner to an entire surface, spot test on a small area of the surface. After applying the Rough & Tough Cleaner, rinse the surface well, and do not allow it to dry on the surface. Finally, for best results, use this cleaner in conjunction with hot water or steam.

Rough & Tough Cleaner Warnings

There are a few important points that must be taken into consideration before using Rough & Tough Cleaner. First, it should not be used on aluminum, poly-sealed surfaces, automobiles, or over-the-road trucks. Second, it must be diluted to at least a 1:40 concentration before being applied to painted surfaces. And lastly, one should always refer to the Rough & Tough Cleaner’s Safety Data Sheet for full safety instructions.

Valuable Features of Rough & Tough Cleaner

Why use Rough & Tough Cleaner? It possesses useful qualities such as:

  • Low instability
  • Nonflammable
  • Formulated for heavy-duty cleaning
  • Available in two bulk sizes (5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums)
  • Can be used as both a cleaning solution and a pre-painting prep solution
