- Much like Heptane, Hexane is a clear, colorless, liquid with a petroleum-like odor.
- Hexane is derived from petroleum and found most commonly in gasoline. Hexane is most often mixed with solvents and used for industrial purposes like extracting oil from vegetables such as soy beans.
