Description

Nitric Acid- 69-70% - ACS & Electronic (Semi) Grade

CAS# 7697-37-2

DESCRIPTION

Nitric Acid, ACS Reagent and Semiconductor (Semi) Grade, also known as Aqua Fortis or Azotic Acid, is a highly reactive and corrosive liquid used extensively across multiple industries and scientific fields. With a chemical formula of HNO3, this solution is characterized by its clear to pale yellow color and a suffocating, acrid odor.

Our Nitric Acid is available in two purity grades:

  • ACS Reagent Grade: Meets the American Chemical Society’s rigorous standards for purity, making it suitable for analytical and research applications.

  • Semiconductor (Semi) Grade: Exceeds the purity requirements of ACS Reagent Grade, providing ultra-high purity levels essential for semiconductor manufacturing processes, where even trace impurities can lead to significant defects.

BENEFITS

  • High Purity Options: Available in ACS Reagent Grade for general laboratory use and Semi Grade for highly specialized, contamination-sensitive applications like semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Strong Oxidizing Agent: Effective in a variety of chemical reactions, particularly in oxidation processes, etching, and metal refining.
  • Versatile Applications: Suitable for diverse uses across scientific research, industrial processing, electronics manufacturing, and more.
  • Reliable and Consistent Performance: Ensures reliable results in both analytical chemistry and industrial-scale applications.

GOT QUESTIONS?

FAQ

What is the CAS-no. and formula of Nitric Acid?
Nitric Acid is a single-component inorganic acid with the chemical formula HNO3 and CAS No. 7697-37-2.
What are the synonyms, physical, and chemical properties of Nitric Acid?
Nitric Acid is a colorless liquid free from suspended matter or sediment. Both ACS Reagent Grade and Semiconductor Grade typically have an assay range of approximately 68–70% nitric acid. The product has very low allowable impurity levels, including chlorides, sulfates, heavy metals, and trace elements, with tighter impurity controls for Semiconductor Grade material.
What safety precautions should be taken when handling Nitric Acid?
Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Do not breathe vapors or mists. Wear appropriate protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection, and face protection. Wash thoroughly after handling and remove contaminated clothing before reuse. In case of exposure or concern, seek medical attention immediately.
What are the appropriate engineering controls for Nitric Acid?
Use in well-ventilated areas with corrosion-resistant exhaust ventilation. Local exhaust ventilation is recommended to control vapors and mists. Emergency eyewash stations and safety showers should be readily available in handling areas.
