This product is a non-toxic, clear, colorless liquid with a pleasant odor that can dissolve other chemical substances. Ethanol, also known as ethyl alcohol and grain alcohol, is a versatile solvent and can be mixed readily with water and many organic liquids and solvents to make chemical compounds. Ethanol can be used as a dehydrating agent. It can also be used to make lacquers, plastics, plasticizers, rubber, rubber accelerators, aerosols, cleaning preparations, polishes, surface coatings, dyes, inks, adhesives, antifreeze, and petrol additives/substitutes.
