AK-225, HCFC-225 going away… What are your non-flammable and plastic-safe options?
Description
Prevent electrical failures, increase performance, and prolong equipment life by dissolving and rinsing away contaminants with Ecolink 3005 aerosol contact cleaner. A short-term replacement for HCFC-141 b-based contact cleaners; Ecolink 3005 aerosol is formulated with AK-225 or HCFC-225 which is going away on 12/31/14. Unlike many contact cleaners that contain significant levels of alcohol and other VOCs, ECOLINK 3005 Aerosol is composed of 100% VOC-exempt compounds. It evaporates very quickly and leaves absolutely no residue. These performance characteristics and excellent plastic compatibility make ECOLINK 3005 Aerosol an ideal electrical contact cleaner.

Applications
|
|
ECOLINK 3005 aerosol contact cleaner is designed for use in electrical maintenance and to repair faulty contacts by removing insulative contamination. Eliminating brushing and scrubbing saves you time and materials while removing oxidation, oil, and other contaminants from contacts, metal switches, motors, relays, generators, edge connectors, buss bars, circuit breakers, scales, and sensors. Grease and oil flow right off, reducing your time and materials needed to scrub off stubborn soils and other difficult contaminants such as adhesives, corrosion, dirt, fingerprints, sludge, solder fluxes, and resins commonly found in aerospace, defense/military, electrical power generation, electronics, medical, metalworking, and public transit maintenance. 6850-01-533-3299 NSN for military users.

Safety precaution
Because of ozone depletion, AK225 (also known as HCFC-225) is scheduled for phase-out in the US on January 1, 2015. For more information on the specifics of the phase-out and replacement chemistries: the AK-225 ban
With 25 years of solvent substitution experience for bulk and aerosol applications, we can make your conversion less stressful and at reduced lifecycle costs compared to AK-225-based aerosols. If we do not have exactly (100%) what you need already formulated and commercially available, Ecolink offers multiple custom blends that are safer, cost-effective, and equal or greater performance for as few as 50 cases (600 cans) per year!
