FAQ

What is the CAS-no. and formula of PUROGEN?
PUROGEN is a formulated mixture and does not have a single chemical formula. It is composed primarily of citrus terpenes, also known as limonene-based solvents, with the main component identified as Citrus Terpene (CAS No. 68647-72-3).
What are the synonyms, physical, and chemical properties of PUROGEN?
PUROGEN is a clear to light yellow liquid with a mild citrus odor. It is a terpene-based organic solvent with high solvency for grease, oil, adhesives, and flux residues. The product has a boiling point of approximately 160°C (320°F), a flash point around 46°C (115°F), a vapor pressure of about 1.5 mm Hg at 20°C, a density of approximately 0.84 g/cm³, low water solubility, and a VOC content of about 839 g/L.
What safety precautions should be taken when handling PUROGEN?
Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, and hot surfaces. Avoid breathing vapors or mist and avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective gloves, eye protection, and face protection. Wash thoroughly after handling and remove contaminated clothing before reuse. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention and do not induce vomiting.
What are the appropriate engineering controls for PUROGEN?
Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation to prevent vapor accumulation. Use explosion-proof electrical and ventilation equipment where vapors may be present. Ground and bond containers during transfer and use only non-sparking tools to control static discharge.
