Safety Data Sheet |
Finally, a brake cleaner you can use in all 50 states!
More and more states are enacting stricter regulations regarding VOC content. In order to provide you with an effective cleaning solution that is EPA & 50 state compliant, Ecolink has developed a brake cleaner that you can use in all 50 states!
Our 50-state compliant brake cleaner is made possible by a 10% VOC formula that offers superior degreasing power compared to its peers due to a proprietary solvent blend that outperforms the 90/10 Acetone blend found in many other 10% VOC brake cleaners. Without further ado, we would like to introduce Green Lightning BC-10!
GREEN LIGHTNING BC-10 is a super active solvent blend that provides maximum performance in a brake parts cleaner without the use of chlorinated solvents. High powered blasting spray easily removes brake fluid, grease, oily dirt and contaminants from linings, pads and drums, cylinders and springs without disassembling the brake unit. This special formula is also suitable for cleaning equipment, tools, most metal parts, and meets or exceeds current state VOC requirements (meets California’s and Utah’s 10% VOC restriction).
Features
- 50-state compliant
- 10% VOC
- Non-chlorinated
- Instant evaporation
- Residue-free
- Power spray blasts away deposits
- Contains no xylene, toluene, MEK, or other known carcinogens.
Using Green Lightning BC-10 for Brake Cleaning
Before using your brake cleaner, be sure to wear protective eyewear and gloves and read all safety precautions on the can. In addition to protecting yourself, cover all parts of the car that could be damaged by the cleaner (i.e. paint, plastics, final coat finish) and do not apply the cleaner to any hot metal on the vehicle. Brake cleaners can be used on brake linings, brake shoes, drums, rotors, caliper units, pads and other areas of the braking mechanism while they’re still intact. Also, check on restrictions regarding the disposal of brake cleaner in your area to ensure you are in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Remove the tire.
- Spray brake cleaner from about two feet away from the top of the brake to the bottom.
- Reapply if contaminants are still present after the first application.
- Air dry or wipe part(s) with a clean cloth.
- Collect and properly dispose of the used brake cleaner.
Safety and Handling Precautions
Only use Green Lightning BC-10 in well-ventilated areas. Ensure to wash hands thoroughly after use, wear protective gloves and eyewear, keep away from heat, hot surfaces, and open flames. Refer to the safety data sheet for more information.
