First, it’s important to understand what PFAS are.

PFAS are synthetic chemicals that are used in consumer and industrial products and can cause serious harm to human and environmental health. From liver disease to endocrine issues, the studies and tests being published from accredited organizations highlight a long list of health hazards linked to prolonged exposer to this toxic chemical.

Now, individuals, businesses, and governments across the world must to action to minimize PFAS contamination.

Current PFAS Regulations

New and existing PFAS regulations are causing businesses to make the switch to safer chemical alternatives. While this may seem like an inconvenience for some, the benefits far outweigh the hassle: improved worker safety, more positive environmental impact, and more!

As of the EPA’s most recent report from November of 2024, here are some of the newest regulations for PFAS:

  • National Drinking Water Standards
  • CERCLA Hazardous Substances Designations for PFOA and PFOS
  • Cut PFAS from U.S. Government Custodial Contracts
  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)
  • Requiring Toxics Release Inventory Reporting for Seven Additional PFAS
  • Final Significant New Use Rule for Inactive PFAS
