Alternatives to AXAREL® 2000, MIL-PRF-680 and PD680 Solvents
AXAREL® 2000, made by Petroferm Inc. is 1 of 10 qualified products to MIL-PRF-680B Type II cleaner. All 10 qualified products are essentially odorless, low non-volatile residue (NVR) and ideal for cleaning weapon systems and aircraft components previously cleaned by PD680 solvents.
Ecolink Inc was the sole source supplier of MIL-PRF-680-Type-II for the majority of the last 10 years to the Defense Supply Center in Richmond (DSCR) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). During this time, we saved the US Government and its taxpayers “hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

Petroferm Inc. - not so fast! Ecolink Inc. has supplied MIL-PRF-680-Type-II for over 10 years!
Ecolink started working on their qualified product, New II, in the late 1990’s to replace the over-priced and uncontested Breakthrough Solvent, Breakthrough Cleaner. As a result of reducing total cost by almost 75%, Ecolink Inc earned the trust, respect and business of the Department of Defense, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Pratt & Whitney. In the early 2000’s, Petroferm courted Ecolink Inc for an acquisition. On September 11, 2001, Petroferm Inc. repealed their Letter of Intent. However, during the due diligence process, they learned of our sole source award for MIL-PRF-680-Type-II and interviewed all of our key employees, including our ex-Navy, military & government specialist.
Several years later we find Petroferm Inc qualified to MIL-PRF-680 Types I, II, III and IV. There is a saying that “Imitation is the highest form of flattery.” Ecolink Inc feels ‘very’ flattered by Petroferm Inc’s imitation. However, we disapprove of their tactic to stimulate the economy with YOUR $, one paid click at a time. The hare (Petroferm Inc) chose to buy their way to the top of the search engines. As you will see from the past 12 months, Petroferm Inc. tried timing the market in September 2009, spending $11/day on average to attract fiscal year-end Department of Defense dollars. The average cost-per-click (CPC) for PD680 and MIL-PRF-680 is $0.37 – $0.46 each. $300 spent in September 2009 for about 800 clicks is a pretty good ROI if they sold just 2 x 55-gal drums.
Ecolink Inc will match or beat any qualified product for MIL-PRF-680-Type-II. We operate a low overhead operation and can afford to guarantee best prices to our customers. Ecolink Inc. has been focused on our customer’s profit first since we were founded in 1991. We listen to our customers who prefer we continue operating without extra layers of expenses, such as CPC advertising,
